Bengaluru: The State Government issued orders on Thursday February 26 revising the postings of seven KAS officers who are now working as Tahsildars. The revised postings are related to the long-running probationer selection issue that began in 1998 and has lasted more than a decade.
The initial selection list for this batch of Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC) candidates, issued in 2006, was challenged in court owing to allegations of irregularities.
The KPSC announced an updated list of postings for candidates selected in the examinations in 2021, based on a High Court order. This had been challenged before the Karnataka Administrative Tribunal by a few candidates. “Since the KAT quashed their petition, the government is now implementing the revised list issued in 2021,” the government order said.
These officials, who are now serving in KAS senior and junior grade positions, will be reassigned to Assistant Commissioners and other duties, relieving them from their previous jobs, stated the order.
Rekha T., Rashmi G., Sharada Kolkar, Manjunath G. N., Mahadev A. M., G. H. Nagahanumaiah, and Ismail Saab Shirahatti are the seven officers.
