A 24-year-old man was allegedly bludgeoned to death with a stone on the outskirts of Bengaluru, police said on Monday.

The deceased has been identified as Tilak. The incident reportedly occurred on Sunday in a field near Gollahalli Gutte under the jurisdiction of the Bannerghatta police station.

Body found in field

According to police, Tilak was allegedly attacked by unidentified miscreants who crushed his head using a hollow block stone. The brutal assault led to his death at the scene.

Authorities said the body was discovered in the field on Sunday, following which the police were alerted.

Officials from the Bannerghatta police station rushed to the location and secured the area before beginning preliminary investigations.

Forensic team collects evidence

A team from the Forensic Science Laboratory also visited the spot to gather crucial evidence that could help identify the suspects involved in the crime.

Forensic experts examined the scene and collected samples and other material evidence to assist investigators.

Police said the exact motive behind the murder is yet to be established, and investigators are exploring multiple angles as part of the inquiry.
