Bengaluru: Karnataka State Contractors’ Association President D. Kempanna has said that the contractors are planning to hold a massive protest in the last week of April as despite months being elapsed after seeking Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s intervention with regard to demand of 40 per cent of the funds allocated to development works as bribes by ministers and MLAs in the State.
Speaking at an event organised by Jagruta Karnataka, he ruled that nothing has changed. We had a lot of expectations from the PM as he had termed the previous Congress Government as 10 per cent government. Buoyed by the same, we wrote to him complaining that bribery has risen to 40% but to no avail, he added.
Further, stating that he had written to the Governor and Chief Minister, Kempanna expressed disappointment that instead of helping the contractors he has been asking for proof.
