Bengaluru: Next time, if you receive any interview letter in the name of any MNC be careful before attending the interview. The CID police have busted a gang in the city, which was abducting people after sending in fake interview letters. This gang allegedly killed at least four young BE graduates who declined to make payment for their release.
At least 15 young BE graduates who were under their seize have been rescued by the police.
The CID police, who busted this gang informed that their modus operandi is very unusual. “First they would send interview letters to those who were seeking jobs. Once they land in Bengaluru the gang abducts the ‘candidates’ and keeps them in isolated buildings in Chikkajala and Yelahanka. Later, the criminals would make a call to their parents and demand ransom for their release. This gang murdered at least four persons whose families didn’t pay hafta,” said CID police, who arrested 15 members of this gang and rescued 15 young BE graduates from North India and Bangladesh.
“This is similar to the Human Trafficking case. The gang is spread all over the country. The CID police are planning to launch a special investigation to nab the few accused who are working as agents of this gang across the country and neighbouring states and countries including Nepal, Bhutan and Bangladesh,” said CID police.
