ACB officials conduct raids on five govt officials’ offices, residences

Bengaluru: Taking quick action on a case registered under the Prevention of Corruption Act about the officials possessing disproportionate assets to their known sources of income, the officials of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) conducted raids on the premises of five government officials of different departments on Tuesday, October 4.

The ACB officials raided the officials’ office premises as well as their residences simultaneously. R Subramanya, Joint Director, Social Welfare Department, Tumakuru; Jagannath, Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE), Panchayat Raj Engineering Department, Santhapura, Aurad taluk in Bidar; S L Sikandar, District Manager, Karnataka Minorities Development Corporation Limited, Bengaluru; Kumar Velu, Senior Health Officer, BBMP, Chikkapet, Bengaluru and D Babu, a D-Group employee, office of the AEE, BBMP, Shivajinagar are the accused officials.

The investigating officers have recovered incriminating documents related to disproportionate assets and the search is still ongoing. The actual disproportionate assets of the officials is yet to be assessed, ACB sources informed.
