Act Now: Bengaluru’s One-Time Tax Relief Scheme Ends Soon

Act Now Bengaluru’s One Time Tax Relief Scheme Ends Soon

Bengaluru property owners are being urged to clear their property tax arrears under the One Time Relief Scheme (OTS) before its impending deadline. This initiative by the BBMP and Karnataka’s Congress government waives penalties and interest on overdue taxes, providing significant financial relief. However, starting December 1, unpaid dues will see steep increases, with liabilities potentially doubling.

BBMP Chief Commissioner Tushar Girinath emphasized the urgency of acting promptly to avoid penalties and server congestion caused by last-minute online payments. With a target to collect ₹4,000 crore, the BBMP is highlighting the critical nature of this offer, encouraging timely compliance to benefit both taxpayers and the city.

For convenience, property owners can settle dues either online at BBMPtax.karnataka.gov.in or offline at designated offices. The OTS scheme streamlines the process, making it easier for residents to avoid future financial strain.

Failure to meet the deadline will leave property owners facing heightened liabilities and reduced flexibility. Girinath also noted the potential for technical issues as payment volumes surge closer to the cutoff date, advising residents to act early to ensure smooth transactions.

This initiative not only aids individuals in managing their dues but also strengthens Bengaluru’s infrastructure funding. Property owners are encouraged to make use of this limited-time opportunity to contribute towards the city’s development while securing personal financial benefits.
