A car carrying Kannada actor Darshan‘s son, Vineesh, was involved in a road accident in Bengaluru’s RR Nagar area on Thursday after an SUV allegedly hit a two-wheeler from behind.
According to eyewitnesses, the Ford Endeavour SUV was reportedly travelling at high speed when it collided with the motorcycle, causing the rider to fall onto the road. The rider sustained minor injuries in the accident.
Eyewitnesses stop SUV after collision
Following the collision, local residents and the injured motorcyclist stopped the SUV. An argument reportedly broke out between members of the public and Vineesh after he stepped out of the vehicle.
Videos of the confrontation quickly surfaced on social media, with several users claiming that Vineesh was behind the wheel at the time of the accident.
However, the Bengaluru Traffic Police said no official complaint had been registered regarding the incident. According to police, the matter appeared to have been settled at the spot, and no case has been filed so far.
Family clarifies Vineesh was not driving
Responding to the viral videos, Darshan’s wife, Vijayalakshmi, issued a clarification stating that Vineesh was not driving the SUV when the accident occurred.
She said Vineesh got out of the vehicle only to assist the injured motorcyclist after the collision. Vijayalakshmi also appealed to the public not to spread false information, adding that the family is already going through a difficult period and such reports only add to their distress.
