Bengaluru: After the heavy rains in the city it is time for Bengalureans to suffer the pits.

Every road, including those in the core city areas are in a very bad condition. Their condition seems to have worsened after the spell of heavy rain that the city received last week.

Since Sunday, the city has recorded 37.1 mm of rainfall with heavy spells at a few places. Also, on September 5, the city had received 24 mm of rainfall. This means that Bengaluru has already recorded 61 mm of rainfall in the first seven days of September against the monthly average rainfall of 241 mm.

Bengaluru does not receive very heavy spells during the month of August. The monthly average rainfall for August is 142.3 mm. Till August 16, the city had already received 78.6 mm of rainfall, which is half of the monthly average rain.

Bengaluru receives good Monsoon showers during the Southwest Monsoon period. The city also observes rains during the Northeast Monsoon as well. However the urban part has been suffering due to this.
