Bengaluru: A man lost his life and three others were injured when an airport bound taxi jumped over the median and collided with another taxi, near Yelahanka New town on Sunday evening.
The deceased is Babu (40), a carpenter from Uttar Pradesh.
It is said that Babu was heading to the Airport in a taxi to pick some people who were supposed to join him for work in Bengaluru.
The driver of the other cab and few passengers who were returning from the Airport has sustained injuries.
It is said that restless driving by Babu’s cab driver led to the gruesome mishap. The driver of the taxi in which Babu was travelling has fled the spot after the mishap.
Passers-by informed the police and rushed the victims to nearby hospitals. While the drivers of the two private cars are being treated for injuries, Babu was declared as dead on arrival.
Traffic police is trying to trace the owner of the cab and identify the driver. A case has been registered in Yelahanka Traffic Police Station.
