Bengaluru: As the Dr. Vishnuvardhan memorial row continues, his son-in-law Aniruddha Jatkar has questioned the state government if his ‘Appaji’ had not made any contribution towards the Sandalwood industry and that’s why it is treating him like this?

Aniruddha, who had called for a press meet at his residence here on Saturday, December 1, he said that the current coalition government had announced starting a film university in the name of Dr. Rajkumar and film city in the name of Ambareesh and asked why not anything in the name of Dr. Vishnuvardhan.

He criticised the state government that it was showing disinterest in creating a memorial for Vishnu.

Aniruddha said that Vishnu’s family had been requesting to open a film institute in the name of Vishnuvardhan or institutes like FTII, Pune in Karnataka, or atleast name the film institute in the name of Vishnu, to which the government had never responded.

Aniruddh said that Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy had responded positively to the harsh statements that he had made against the government, but added that he was upset once again on the announcement by HDK that a film city will be established in the name of Ambi uncle.

He questioned that why weren’t the decisions taken with the same passion and interest when it came to Vishnuvardhan.

Aniruddha accused the government and the people concerned saying that they took names of all the three legendary actors (Dr. Rajkumar, Dr. Vishnuvardhan and Ambareesh) together, but differentiated when it came to the construction of a memorial for Dr. Vishnuvardhan.
