Bengaluru: Soon after police found and took care of a baby found abandoned among the bushes in Doddatagaru, another baby was found abandoned in an autoriskshaw by its owner, on June 5.

The rickshaw driver, A Doddappaiah usually ferries people from the Kodigehalli railway station to Nagavara. But on June 5, his usual day turned unusual very fast when he found the 8-day-old infant in his vehicle.

On the night the baby was found, Doddappaiah went his usual route at around 10 pm but, found that the road near the railway station’s gate was under repair. He then decided to park his rickshaw and walk to the station to find passengers.

Upon arriving at his vehicle 15 minutes later, he noticed that a crowd had gathered around it. When he went to investigate the matter, he found to his utter surprise, that there was a baby boy in his vehicle. He immediately contacted the police and kept the infant warm until they arrived.

After the police had taken the baby to the station, they fed him some packaged milk and admitted him to a hospital where the doctors assured them that the child was in good health.

Later, the DCP (North-East) Kala Krishnaswamy, informed that the baby has been put in the care of the Child Welfare Committee.
