In a shocking incident, a 32-year-old auto-rickshaw driver was allegedly murdered by his own friends over a financial dispute in Bengaluru. Police said the accused later buried the body near Kengeri in an attempt to destroy evidence and evade arrest.

According to investigators, the victim had reportedly lent money to one of the accused several months ago. Frequent arguments had allegedly taken place between them regarding repayment. Police suspect the dispute escalated into a planned attack.

The victim was reported missing by family members after he failed to return home. Following a complaint, police launched an investigation and traced the movements of the victim through mobile phone records and local enquiries.

During interrogation, the accused allegedly confessed to the murder. Police said the body had been buried in a secluded area near Kengeri outskirts. Officials later exhumed the body in the presence of forensic experts and senior officers.

The incident has created fear and concern among residents, especially over the growing number of violent crimes linked to personal and financial disputes in the city.

Police have arrested the accused and registered a case under relevant sections related to murder and destruction of evidence. Further investigation is underway to determine whether more individuals were involved in the crime.

Authorities are now gathering forensic evidence and verifying financial transactions connected to the dispute. Police are also questioning acquaintances of both the victim and the accused to reconstruct the sequence of events leading to the murder.

The body has been sent for post-mortem examination.
