Bengaluru: The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has given a week’s ultimatum to shut down all commercial operations in residential areas.
Disclosing the details, BBMP Commissioner Manjunath Prasad warned of severe action against those violating 2015 programme and zonal guidelines.
Commercial activities in residential areas give rise to traffic problems and cause lot of inconvenience to residents and hence notices have been issued to stop all those, Commissioner Prasad said.
Carrying out commercial activities in parking areas and building basements amounts to violation of Karnataka Corporation Act, commissioner warned.
He advised all those running commercial operations on their own to cease them within the deadline instead of facing action under the 1976 Karnataka Muncipal Council (KMC) Act.
