Bengaluru: The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) issued an order on Tuesday November 23 that all gyms, sports facilities, and swimming pools can now be opened within apartment complexes and gated communities at 50 per cent capacity in Bengaluru.

In the order, Commissioner Gaurav Gupta has stated that these places can be used as long as Covid – 19 guidelines are followed and that it is “observed that these places do not become socialising or meeting points.”

It also states that swimming pools can function at 50 per cent capacity and that the maximum number of people allowed must be displayed at the entrance. “At entry, all shall be examined for fever and respiratory symptoms and only those who are asymptomatic will be permitted, as long as they are completely vaccinated.” The order further states that after each batch, swimming pools, bathrooms, walkways, and other common places utilised by swimmers should be cleaned with a 1 per cent Sodium Hypochlorite solution.
