Bbmp Launched Micro Plan To Control Dengue

Bengaluru: Chief Commissioner Tushar Girinath has instructed officials to develop a comprehensive micro plan for the city to control dengue cases effectively. This directive comes as part of the ongoing efforts to combat the spread of dengue in the city.

As a preventive measure, the corporation is conducting “dry days” in different zones across Bengaluru. During one such initiative, Girinath visited GM Palya and New Thippasandra areas in the East Zone’s CV Raman Nagar to observe the awareness campaigns being conducted among citizens.

The Chief Commissioner emphasized the importance of weekly checks on potential mosquito breeding sites such as water sumps, drums, areas near faucets, and flower pots.

He urged citizens to drain and dry these water sources weekly, refilling them with fresh water. Girinath explained that storing water for more than a week leads to larvae production and mosquito multiplication.

To further support the anti-dengue efforts, ASHA workers are distributing informational leaflets during door-to-door visits. These leaflets provide crucial information about dengue prevention and the importance of eliminating mosquito breeding sites.

Girinath also instructed officials to focus on targeted spraying of insecticides at identified larvae breeding sites. This approach aims to control mosquito populations more effectively by addressing the problem at its source.
