Bengaluru: Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) officials found over 696 Rajakaluve encroachments in the city which are causing floods whenever it rains in the city.
The city has a network of over 840 kms of Rajakaluve.
It can be recalled that last week the BBMP came under fire over the flood situation in the eastern parts of the city. The photos of flood water on roads went viral.
According to the BBMP authorities, among these encroachments, as many as 32 are house construction on the stormwater drainages are stopping the water flow.
These encroachments will be removed soon through a special drive., informed officials.
