Bengaluru: The Karnataka Industrial Disputes and Certain Other Laws (Karnataka Amendment) Bill 2020 has been withdrawn by the State Government on Monday September 19.
The Bill was passed in Assembly but it was defeated in the Council by the both Opposition parties Congress and JD (S). It is releated with Labour Laws.
The Amendment Bill was aimed at making only those establishments that employ 300 or more people seek permission from the Government for closure, retrenchment, or layoff. It has also proposed to increase of employees’ overtime work to 125 hours.
Many labour organisations and the Opposition parties had opposed the Bill.
