Bengaluru: The Karnataka chapter of the Association for Protection of Civil Rights (APCR) has demanded the immediate release of Teesta Setalvad, a journalist and social activist and has termed her arrest as a ‘strangle of justice.’
The APCR has strongly condemned Teesta Setalvad’s arrest by Gujarat ATS, citing the most recent Supreme Court ruling, and termed Teesta as an indefatigable defender of human rights.
Advocate Muhammad Niyaz, General Secretary of the APCR Karnataka Chapter informed that it is unacceptable that a person who has been fighting for the justice of the citizens should be accused of fabricating evidence and misleading the special investigation team.
In the press release, the APCR has demanded the withdrawal of the false case against Setalvad.
