Bengaluru: The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has identified 50 flood-hit areas and, as a precaution, has deployed earthmovers to keep major storm water drains clear and prevent flooding in low-lying areas, informed BBMP Chief Commissioner Tushar Girinath.
Speaking to mediapersons he said, “In Pai Layout, Sai Layout, and HSR Layout, the BBMP has also deployed water pumps, and as and when the streets flood, water is pumped to the nearby drain.” He also said that BBMP is taking precautions because rain is predicted for the City and the surrounding areas.
“Rainwater will be pumped out till the problem is solved with permanent measures,” he added.
