Bengaluru: Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee President D. K. Shivakumar and his brother and Bengaluru Rural MP D. K. Suresh, have received new summonses from the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with an inquiry into the National Herald case and alleged financial contributions to Young India. Shivakumar said he has requested the ED to give another date for him to appear, considering participation in the ongoing Bharat Jodo Yatra.

Speaking to mediapersons on Monday October 3 he said, “The Karnataka leg of the Bharat Jodo Yatra is now underway, thus I have asked the ED for a different date to appear. I should be present when the march arrives at Adichunchanagiri on October 7.”

He admitted that he and his brother Suresh had given Young India, National Herald, and the trust their full support and said that they were prepared to appear before the agencies but had asked them to provide another date. He said that the yatra is drawing a large number of farmers and youth and the Congress leaders are pleased with this development.
