Bengaluru: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National Organising Secretary B. L. Santhosh has hit back at Actor Kamal Haasan’s claim that there was no Hindu religion during the Cholas and questioned as to how Raja Raja Chola could become a Dravidian King if there was no concept of Tamil Nadu during the Chola dynasty.
Actor Kamal Haasan, at an event in Chennai recently, said that there was no word ‘Hindu’ during the Chola period. He also alleged that Raja Raja Chola was not at all a Hindu King.
“Raja Raja Chola built the Brihadeeshwara Temple in Thanjavur of Tamil Nadu and now foolish people have sparked a debate that there were no Hindus during the Chola period,” Santhosh added.
