Bengaluru: BSY will lead party in 2023 Assembly polls, says CM

Bengaluru: Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Friday July 22 said senior BJP leader B. S. Yediyurappa can never retire and will lead the party under his guidance for 2023 Assembly polls.

His response come shortly after Yediyurappa declared he will vacate his Shikaripura constituency and not run in the upcoming election.

Yediyurappa also said that B. Y. Vijayendra, his son and the party’s State Vice-President, will run for Shikaripura Assembly in 2023.

Speaking mediapersons he said that Yediyurappa’s his strength and guidance will be there in the next elections. He also said that Yediyurappa is a “fatherly figure” and the central leaders know about that.
