Bengaluru: A road-rage incident in Bengaluru has drawn attention after BharatAgri founder and CEO Siddharth Dialani said Google’s Gemini helped him draft a police complaint and understand how to pursue the matter after a biker allegedly damaged his car.
Dialani shared details of the incident on social media, saying he used the AI chatbot to prepare a formal complaint to the Koramangala police and was advised to obtain a written acknowledgement after submitting it.
According to his account, the dispute eventually ended with the biker writing an apology and paying for the damage to the car. The incident has since become an example of how people are beginning to use generative AI to navigate everyday legal and administrative procedures.
Road rage incident took place near Ejipura
According to Dialani, the incident occurred on the road between Sony Signal and Ejipura Signal in Bengaluru.
He alleged that a biker travelling with his wife believed that Dialani’s car had brushed against his motorcycle. The disagreement reportedly escalated after the biker stopped Dialani’s car.
Dialani alleged that the biker kicked the side door of his car before getting back on his motorcycle and subsequently ramming the car from behind.
He further claimed that the biker overtook his vehicle several times and braked suddenly in front of it, which he described as an attempt to intimidate him.
These details are based on Dialani’s account of the incident. The dashcam footage from his car was subsequently submitted to the police as evidence, according to reports.
Dashcam footage helped identify the biker
One of the key pieces of evidence in the incident was reportedly the dashcam recording from Dialani’s car.
According to his account, the footage captured the incident and showed the registration number of the motorcycle involved.
Dialani said he submitted the video footage and other evidence to the Koramangala Police Station along with his complaint.
Reports citing his account said police used the motorcycle’s registration number visible in the footage to identify the vehicle and subsequently obtained the rider’s phone number from their database.
The biker was then called to the police station, according to Dialani.
Gemini helped draft the police complaint
Dialani said he turned to Google’s Gemini after deciding to formally report the incident.
According to him, the AI tool helped prepare a strongly worded complaint addressed to the Koramangala police station. Gemini also reportedly suggested that he insist on receiving a written acknowledgement after handing over the complaint.
Dialani said the advice helped ensure that his complaint was formally acknowledged.
The incident has highlighted a growing use of generative AI beyond conventional tasks such as writing, summarising and research. In this case, Dialani used the tool to organise his account of an incident and understand the steps involved in approaching the police.
However, AI-generated guidance does not replace legal advice from a qualified lawyer or decisions made by police and other authorities.
Biker allegedly apologised and paid for damages
After the biker was reportedly brought to the police station, Dialani said the man initially maintained that Dialani’s car had hit his motorcycle first.
According to Dialani, he then showed the biker photographs and other evidence relating to the damage to his car.
Dialani said he also explained that the matter could potentially result in an FIR and criminal proceedings.
Following the discussion, the biker reportedly agreed to write an apology letter and compensate Dialani for the damage to his vehicle.
The dispute was therefore resolved without the matter proceeding further, according to Dialani’s account. Reports did not independently establish the allegations against the biker beyond the evidence and account described by the CEO.
CEO praises Koramangala police
Dialani also praised the conduct of the Koramangala police while recounting the incident.
He said the police were cooperative and professional during the process and claimed that the matter was resolved without any bribe.
The police’s reported use of dashcam footage and the motorcycle registration number played an important role in identifying the person involved, according to Dialani’s account.
