Bengaluru: Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said that he will visit the flood-hit Marathahalli on Thursday August 1.

He said that officials from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) had been deployed and will assist in relief work after major waterlogging on the city’s Outer Ring Road was caused by heavy rainfall and overflowing lakes.

“I planned to go to Marathahalli today, but I don’t want to disturb the officials who are engaged with the relief work. Tomorrow (Thursday) I will visit Marathahalli and the nearby districts to interact with people,” Bommai said.

“Many issues have been raised about Bengaluru’s infrastructure, and we will soon create a plan to fix these issues. In addition to rescuing people, we are also focusing on repairing the damage brought on by the floods,” he added.
