Bengaluru: The launch of a corruption helpline and a website where victims may report government corruption was announced by the Congress on Tuesday September 13. The party has promised to keep the information confidential.

Speaking to mediapersons Congress leaders Siddaramaiah, D. K. Shivakumar, and B. K. Hariprasad informed to call 8447704040 or send a message to www.40percentsarkara.com if they were a victim of corruption. They said that corruption was affecting the state’s image, particularly the 40 per cent allegation against the government.

PWD contractors, funds given to mutts, purchases of equipment, etc. all take a percentage cut. Shivakumar said, “We are providing the public with a helpline and will file a complaint on their behalf. We must bring the corruption problem to the people.  We should all be accountable to the people  There is a corruption menu card with fixed rates for various types of corruption.”

He emphasised the suicide case of Professor Ashok and the PSI scam, in which only petty offenders were detained. He asserted that the Home Minister and Higher Education Minister make phone calls to release candidates who have been selected for questioning. He demanded that the government inform opposition MLAs who raise concerns about these scams. He questioned why H. Vishwanath and Basanagouda Patil Yatnal, two BJP legislators who have made accusations of corruption, have not been probed.
