Bengaluru: Congress Prez polls, leaders begin campaign for Kharge

Bengaluru: Ahead of the election slated to be held on Monday October 17 for the post of All India Congress Committee (AICC) President, State Congress Leaders have started seeking votes in favour of Mallikarjuna Kharge.

Congress leaders led by Former Minister Krishnappa, Former Council Chairman V. R. Sudarshan, MLAs Harris, Byrathi Suresh, U. B. Venkatesh and Shivanna have appealed to all PCC members in the State to vote in favour of Kharge.

As many as 479 PCC representatives from the State and 15 members of the Congress Legislative Party are eligible to vote in this election. The Congress campaign delegation has appealed to all of them to vote in favour of Kharge.

Kharge has seen many aspects of national and state politics. There is internal democracy in the Congress. This is the fifth time in the history of the Congress that elections are being held for the post of President. Therefore, efforts should be made to make Kharge win, he appealed.
