Bengaluru: Congress leaders will meet in the City to discuss Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra, the upcoming Assembly elections in 2023, and other political developments on August 28 and 29.
The meetings will be attended by senior Congress leaders like Randeep Singh Surjewala, Digvijay Singh, Jairam Ramesh, and Siddaramaiah, as well as legislators from the party, KPCC office-bearers, 2018 Assembly candidates, and 2019 Lok Sabha candidates.
The party strategy for the State legislative session, which begins on September 10, will be discussed during the legislative party meeting, informed State Congress President D. K. Shivakumar. The party is likely to discuss several topics including alleged irregularities in the recruitment of police sub-inspectors and the state’s law and order situation.
Shivakumar criticised the BJP for distributing Vinayak Damodar Savarkar’s posters for the Ganesh festival. “The BJP is not able to talk about development, which is why they are using such issues to divide society. “What is the connection between Savarkar and the Ganesh festival? he asked.
