A special court in Bengaluru has remanded terror-accused Salman Rahman Khan, who was extradited by Rwanda to India, to seven days of judicial custody. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) presented Khan before the court on Thursday night, with tight security measures in place. P Prasanna Kumar, the Special Public Prosecutor, argued in favor of the NIA, leading the court to order the custody.
Khan, who faces serious charges, is accused of supplying materials for terrorist activities in Bengaluru. He was charged by the NIA in connection with the Bengaluru prison radicalization case, which came to light in January 2024 after a series of arrests by the Central Crime Branch (CCB). The case involves a terror conspiracy aimed at carrying out attacks in the city. The NIA may seek Khan’s custody again on Monday for further questioning.
