Bengaluru: BJP National General Secretary C.T. Ravi, on Wednesday September 28, welcomed the Central Government’s decision to ban the Popular Front of India (PFI) and its affiliates for supporting ISIS-type militancy, and fostering insecurity, civil war, and sedition within the country.
Ravi said that while the government has done its part, it is not enough. The society also needs to be careful so as not to let subversive and divisive organisations grow.
No political party should use the ban as an opportunity to gain political advantage, he said.
There is a possibility that after the sudden ban, people will engage in provocative, anti-national activities. If any such incidences are found, I kindly ask everyone to inform the police and cooperate with the officials to avoid any further issues,” Ravi said.
The Union Home Ministry banned PFI for 5 years in a notice that was published late on Tuesday night. The PFI and its affiliates, according to the central government, have engaged in subversive activities that have disturbed public order, undermined the country’s constitutional order, and promoted and maintained a terror-based regressive regime.
