Bengaluru: BJP is planning to lure former Union Minister K. H. Muniyappa, a strong SC community leader from Kolar to the party fold ahead of the 2023 State Assembly election.
According to sources, on the night of Saturday September 24, Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. K. Sudhakar met Muniyappa and invited him to the BJP.
Muniyappa is upset over his side-lining in Congress by a section of leaders from Kolar led by Former Speaker K. Ramesh Kumar.
Muniyappa belongs to SC and the only senior Madiga leader in Congress.
According to sources, KPCC President D. K. Shivakumar is also trying to retain him by offering him a plum post in the State unit.
