Bengaluru: The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (Recruitment of Pourakarmikas) (Special) Rules 2022 draft was released on Monday September 26 by the State Government. The stakeholders have seven days to voice any objections.
According to the draft rules, the maximum age limit for the appointment of pourakarmikas to the BBMP is 55. The pay scale for the job is set at Rs. 17,000 to Rs. 28,950, and requirements include fluency in Kannada and a medical fitness report from a competent authority. The 3,673 current vacancies will be filled using the draft rules.
A selection committee made up of the Chief Commissioner of the BBMP, the Special Commissioner (Administration), the Special Commissioner for SWM, and a few other members will also be constituted to select the candidates.
The BBMP should also make sure that an official gazette is used to advertise the vacancies and applications are invited.
The authorities should then create a list of applicants in order of length of service. If two applicants have similar lengths of service, the elder candidate will be given preference.
The draft rules add that the BBMP should publish the final list on its website, inform the candidates and display the same on the notice board.
