Bengaluru: Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee President D. K. Shivakumar on Sunday July 24 that the Enforcement Directorate’s (ED) fresh summons to Sonia Gandhi was harassment and unnecessary.

Sonia Gandhi is facing a probe by the central agency in the National Herald case. She was questioned by the ED on July 21 and has been called in again on July 26.

Shivakumar said that the party will stage a peaceful protest on July 26. “The ED has now called Sonia Gandhi to appear after 50 hours of questioning Rahul Gandhi. This was unnecessary. This is harassment. On July 26, we observe a peaceful protest.  I urge everyone to support this cause,” he added.
