Bengaluru: The City police have banned the sale of liquor in parts of East Bengaluru on Sunday October 9 owing to Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi celebrations and processions.

The area’s clubs and five-star hotels, however, will be exempt from the ban.

City Police Commissioner C. H. Pratap Reddy on Saturday issued an order prohibiting the sale of liquor on October 9 in the areas coming under the Police Station limits of Hennur, Govindapura, KG Halli, DJ Halli, Pulkeshinagar, Shivajinagar, Commercial Street, and Bharathinagar.

“On the occasion of Eid-e-Milad there will be processions that will be undertaken and in order to maintain peace and security the sale of liquor is prohibited,” stated the order issued by the City Police Commissioner.
