Bengaluru: The Wilson Garden Police on Tuesday January 3 have arrested a fake Ayurveda doctor, his son, and a Rajasthani colleague on allegations of defrauding a man of Rs. 8.08 lakh that he had paid to them for the treatment of his 72-year-old mother.

The arrested have been identified as Mohammed Sameen (50), also known as Dr. Malik Ali, his son Saif Ali (25) and Mohammed Rahees (55).

A complaint was filed against the accused by Shantinagar resident Pankaj Rathore. Sameen had visited the complainant’s house to treat his 72-year-old mother. After removing some pus from the woman’s infected leg, Sameen left, assuring her to repeat the treatment a few more times.

Rathore filed a complaint against the accused on December 17 after receiving no response.

The accused were arrested from a makeshift shed next to a road in Nelamangala. Items used for treatment, Rs. 3.5 lakh in cash, four cars, and three two-wheelers have all been seized by the police.
