Bengaluru: Minister for Bengaluru Development and Town Planning K J George on Monday held discussions with Information Technology and Biotechnology and Tourism Minister Priyanka Kharge, Shantinagar MLA N A Harris and other officials with regard to holding a traffic free Bengaluru festival in the city with a view to regain the past glory and heritage of the city.
During the interactive session, it was decided to hold the festival on an experimental basis on January 15 on 100 feet road in Indiranagar. On that day traffic movement would be prohibited on the road to facilitate festival revelers to move about freely on the road. Gradually the festival would be extended to other important roads in the city.
Top officials including Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike Commissioner N Manjunath Prasad, Cty Police Commissioner N S Megharik, Bangalore Development Authority Commissioner Rajkumar Khatri, Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Managing Director Pradeep Singh Kharola and others attended the meeting in Vidhana Soudha.
