Bengaluru: The first intercity electric bus operated by KSRTC ferried 35 passengers between Bengaluru and Mysuru on Monday January 16.
The EV Power Plus air-conditioned blue bus, carrying 15 passengers, departed from the Kempegowda Bus Station in Majestic at 6.50 am. It left for Mysuru after picking up another 20 passengers at the Mysuru Road Satellite Bus Station at 7.35 am. The bus reached Mysuru at 9.45 am.
The bus left Mysuru around 12.10 pm with 35 people on board travelling on the return journey. it reached the Majestic and the Mysuru Road Satellite Bus Station at 2.20 pm and 2.45 pm, respectively.
According to KSRTC officials, the bus’ State of Charge (SoC) was 96 per cent when it departed Majestic in the morning. After arriving at the bus station in Mysuru, the SoC decreased to 61 per cent. Before departing for Bengaluru, the bus was charged once more in Mysuru.
According to the KSRTC, the SoC for the one-way trip (141 km) is 35 per cent. The bus can go 330 kilometres on a full charge in two hours. There are 43 seats in the 2+2 configuration of the bus.
Roses and treats were given to passengers on the maiden trip.
