Bengaluru: At just 24, Bengaluru-based startup founder Akash Narayan has reportedly built a legal-tech company with an annual turnover of Rs 13 crore and recently purchased an apartment in the city worth Rs 1.8 crore.

Narayan is the founder of Legalit, a technology company focused on developing solutions for lawyers and law firms. He shared news of his home purchase on Instagram, describing it as a milestone achieved through his entrepreneurial journey.

The young entrepreneur also used the occasion to acknowledge the role played by his family, friends, colleagues and mentors in his journey. In an emotional video, he recalled the support and lessons he received from family members during periods when his career choices and early efforts were met with uncertainty.

From student to startup founder

Narayan’s interest in technology began while he was still a student. During his school years, he developed Android applications, including WebRouse and HowToTech, with the latter aimed at helping senior citizens understand modern technology.

His early work reportedly received recognition from Infosys, encouraging him to continue exploring technology and entrepreneurship.

Narayan later gained experience across technology, business development and consulting. His professional background includes an internship at Nokia, a consulting role with Sphinx Tech and work as a full-stack developer.

He also served as Head of Growth at NK Law Associates and worked as Chief Technology Officer at Report Cyber Crimes. His professional experience further included work with I-PAC and political consultancy.

Legal-tech venture founded in 2023

Narayan founded Legalit in December 2023. The company focuses on technology solutions for lawyers and law firms, bringing together his background in technology and legal education.

He holds a law degree from St Joseph’s College and is pursuing Data Science at Manipal University, according to the report.

The development of Legalit marks another stage in his career, which began with experimenting with mobile applications and later expanded into technology, consulting, business development and entrepreneurship.

Narayan is also a seed investor in startup Ayan, adding another dimension to his involvement in the startup ecosystem.

Rs 1.8 crore Bengaluru home

Narayan’s latest milestone is the purchase of an apartment in Bengaluru valued at Rs 1.8 crore. He shared the achievement on social media while reflecting on the people who supported him throughout his journey.

He credited his mother for standing by him even when his career decisions did not initially appear logical. He also thanked his father for the lessons he learnt from him and remembered his late grandfather and grandmother for teaching him the importance of kindness and goodness.

His sister, he said, helped him understand the importance of humility.

The young founder described the apartment and the company’s reported Rs 13-crore annual turnover as milestones rather than an endpoint. He indicated that he had already set new goals for the next phase of his career.

Focus on the next phase

Narayan’s story reflects the path of a young entrepreneur who began experimenting with technology at an early age before moving into professional roles and eventually establishing his own startup.

His experience spans software development, legal services, business growth and consulting, eventually leading to the launch of Legalit.

The entrepreneur’s social media post also received congratulatory messages from professionals, entrepreneurs and young aspirants. Several respondents appreciated his decision to acknowledge the contribution of family members, colleagues and mentors alongside his personal achievements.

For Bengaluru’s startup ecosystem, stories such as Narayan’s highlight the range of entrepreneurial journeys emerging from the city, where technology, professional services and new business models continue to intersect.

A milestone, not an endpoint

At 24, Narayan has marked two significant personal and professional milestones — building Legalit into a company that reportedly has an annual turnover of Rs 13 crore and purchasing his own home in Bengaluru.

His journey from developing Android applications as a student to founding a legal-tech company demonstrates how his interests in technology and law have evolved over time. He has indicated that the latest achievements are part of a larger journey, with new goals planned for the future.
