Bengaluru: The Government has decided to drop the proposed online sale of liquor.
The plan is proposed to be drop as good income to the Excise Department not expected and employees of liquor outlets may lose their jobs.
The online sale of liquor was proposed by the Coalition Government led by the then Chief Minister H. D. Kumaraswamy. However, the Opposition parties had opposed the plan. Later during the tenure of B. S. Yediyurappa, the proposal was made again.
