Bengaluru: Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said on Tuesday September 13 said that the government has taken on the task of fixing the sluice gates of all 160 lakes in Bengaluru city to ensure a smooth outflow of water from the water bodies to prevent flash floods due to encroachments of Sewage Water Drains (SWD), which have prevented interlinking of City lakes.
He was responding to a question raised by Congress MLA Krishna Byre Gowda from Byatarayanapura.
He noted that the government has approved grants of Rs. 300 Crore and Rs. 1,500 Crore to develop SWDs.
