Bengaluru: The State Government issued an order suspending 18 officials on graft allegations, including three Assistant Commissioners of the enforcement wing of the State Commercial Tax Department.
The action has been taken as a result of the preliminary investigation by the vigilance wing pending a departmental inquiry into their alleged involvement in the collecting of bribes.
According to sources, the action was initiated a week ago when Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai requested a probe as a result of complaints from business persons.
