Bengaluru: According to the State High Court, the Federation of Karnataka Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FKCCI) is a private entity and cannot be considered as a Government body.

B. L. Shankarappa’s petition in this regard was dismissed by Justice Krishna S. Dixit’s single-judge panel. In his petition, he claimed that the organisation was being run illegally and against democratic values.

The FKCCI was a Corporation founded in 1938 and managed by the Companies Act 2013. However, the High Court ordered that the petitioner must go before the National Companies Law Tribunal.
