Bengaluru Hospitals Boost Emergency Preparations For Deepavali Firecracker Injuries

With Deepavali celebrations around the corner, Bengaluru’s Victoria and Minto Hospitals are heightening their emergency response for potential firecracker-related injuries. Both hospitals are staffed and equipped for round-the-clock care, The Indian Express reported. Victoria Hospital’s advanced burns care unit is on high alert, with dedicated facilities, ventilators, and intensive care provisions, ready to handle severe burn cases and minor injuries alike. Minto Ophthalmic Hospital has also set up a 35-bed ward for firecracker-induced eye injuries, with specialists available 24/7 and a standby operating room for emergencies.

In addition, safety guidelines have been issued to minimize risks for both people and pets. Authorities recommend only eco-friendly green crackers, per Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah’s announcement, in line with Supreme Court directives. Crackers should be used from 8 pm to 10 pm, underlining the importance of safety during the festivities.
