Bengaluru: Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) has become the first metro in India to test a 5G network under the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) project.
The 5G network radiated in a 200 metres radius is deployed by Reliance Jio at M G Road Station. The test was 50 times faster than 4G, with download and upload speeds of 1.45 Gbps and 65 Mbps, respectively.
Bengaluru Metro’s Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) made the announcement on Twitter.
