Bengaluru: The murder of Praveen Nettaru and subsequent protests by the party activists across the State now has put the BJP State and National leadership in a tight spot.
According to the sources, Party National Leadership has decided to overhaul the party State Unit which failed to understand the emotions of the activists.
“Nalin Kumar Kateel will be replaced from his Party State Unit President post as well as Mangaluru MP in 2024 election,” said a senior RSS functionary speaking to NewsKarnataka. “He has lost popularity. This incident is a challenging one,” he said.
According to sources, Party already has decided to name Ganesh Karnik as the next MP candidate from Mangaluru. If he declines, Pramod Madhwaraj will be asked to contest.
The party is likely to drop at least 3 sitting MLAs of the District including Minister S. Angara added sources in the BJP.
