Bengaluru: The launch of the Vande Bharat Chennai-Bengaluru-Mysuru Express, the unveiling of the second terminal at Kempegowda International Airport, and the unveiling of a 108-foot-tall statue of Nadaprabhu Kempegowda near KIA are the three major events that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend during his visit to the State on November 11.

Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said that the second terminal at the airport is required due to a rise in the number of international travellers. The new terminal would feature 100 counters and the ability to accommodate 25 lakh passengers.

KIA will be the second-largest airport in the country when Terminals 1 and 2 are put together. “According to Bommai, Terminal 2 will support the growth of the state’s tourism industry as well as other sectors like IT/BT and R&D,” said Bommai.
