Bengaluru: Lokayukta Police on September 21 caught a Karnataka Administrative Service (KAS) Officer and a land surveyor, both attached to KIADB, while returning Rs. 3 lakh, including Rs. 2.50 lakh bribe accepted for issuing an “NoC,” along with Rs. 50,000 to the complainant, in exchange to withdraw the complaint.
The first accused is A. B. Vijayakumar, Special Land Acquisition Officer-II, and the second accused is Raghunath, a land surveyor who works in the first accused’s office. the officials demanded a bribe of Rs. 2.50 lakh to issue the complainant, Bhagath Singh Arun, an NoC.
The KIADB DC (Land Acquisition) received a complaint from Arun. Then they both pleaded with Arun to return the bribe and Rs. 50,000 and drop the complaint. Arun approached the Lokayukta, who trapped the two accused officials.
