Bengaluru: Police arrested a man for blackmailing a 25-year-old woman software engineer after finding her lost pen drive, which included her private photos and videos. The victim had given him about Rs. 70,000 after promising to return pen drive. But he continued harassing her instead. In response to her complaint, the CEN Police of the South East division arrested the accused, Shoaib Ahmed, and recovered the pen drive.

Shoaib, a resident of Begur, had found the victim’s lost pen drive. He looked through its contents and found her mobile number. On WhatsApp, he sent her a few of the pictures and videos from the pen drive and asked money.

According to sources, the accused had threatened the victim that if she didn’t pay up, the videos and photos would be posted on social media. However, she complained on October 30 when he kept demanding money.
