Bengaluru: The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) and the Koti Vruksha Sainya (KVS) have set out on a mission to plant one Crore saplings across the City.
Chief Commissioner of the BBMP Tushar Girinath said that the civic body is taking steps to balance development and the environment.
He urged citizens, RWAs, and students to participate in the planting of saplings in big numbers.
He further said that the BBMP will take action against anyone found harming trees by pasting advertisements.
The Koti Vruksha Sainya will plant trees throughout the city and maintain them for three years. The BBMP will give the saplings.
