Bengaluru: English would be taught as one of the languages in model government schools, said Primary and Secondary Education Minister B. C. Nagesh.

He was speaking at a Government function on Wednesday August 24, he said though medium of instruction in these schools will be Kannada, the Department has decided to teach English as a subject because the parents still have British mentality and show partisan attitude towards English. “The love for the English language remains the same as it was during British times,” Minister stressed.

He added, “This is one of the reasons we have added English as one of the language of study.”
