Bengaluru: The High Court has quashed an appeal against the seat matrix issued for admission to medical courses in minority medical colleges for the academic year 2022–2023.
The Association of Minority Professional Colleges in Karnataka and the State Government reached an agreement that served as the basis for the seat matrix.
“The association of which the petitioners are members agreed with the state government with eyes wide open. It is important to highlight that the majority of the association’s members have not complained about the seat matrix or fee fixation. The other members of the associations who are not present before the court will be affected by any changes to the seat matrix sought by the petitioners,” the HC said.
It is evident that the petitioners have received more seats under the NRI and management quotas in previous years, said a division bench of Justice Alok Aradhe and Justice S. Vishwajith Shetty. In the absence of any statutory right being violated, the petitioners cannot be allowed to file a complaint in this regard just because they have few seats this year, the court stated.
